“ This place is fabulous authentic Italian dishes. Homemade dessert, Family owned and run. Best food in New Haven ”
“ I thoroughly enjoyed everything about this restaurant. It is very small with a few 2 and 4 tops and two large family style tables that seat about 16 people each. We were a party of 4 seated at one of the larger tables. The service was lovely. One of the owners was our server and she was extremely knowledgeable about her food and the Italian region it was from and very proud of her restaurant. Portions are not overly sized and service is not rushed. We started with the figs and the toasted ciabatta bread appetizer. Both were great. The figs were tender, the stuffing creamy and the balance of the two ate very savory, the appetizer was perfectly balanced and not sweet. The ciabatta appetizer also good but not memorable. The lasagna was probably the best I have ever had. It is vegetarian and changes daily. Ours was a broccoli lasagna but I didn’t really taste any broccoli, it was simply creamy flavorful and melted in your mouth . I will go back again just to try another version of this. We also had the pasta special. The pasta had a great chew to it. They serve wine and have several choices of white and red and the prices are very reasonable. They do not make their own pasta but we were told it is fresh and made locally. This restaurant is not in the little Italy section of the city but for me has much more authentic Italian food and was a lovely dining experience with traditional Italian food in a quaint atmosphere and definitely worth a trip to NH to try. ”
“ Another really nice discovery of a small Italian Restaurant. Excellent service by the owner and staff. Great pasta in really nice variations with a good bottle of light Italian wine. That’s exactly one enjoys for a nice Saturday evening. Another keeper for many more visits! ”
“ It just doesn’t get more authentic Italian than this place. The owner who is a worldly lady with a million stories to share, personally comes to greet you and ensures you are having a good time. Her daughter who is also the server and seating hostess will give you great recommendations about the food. I’ve had gnocchi many times but never one made out of spinach and not potatoes, it was a hit and definitely worth ordering. A small place with a homely vibe and welcoming atmosphere, a great space for anyone wanting a good wholesome meal. ”
“ The experience here is very homey! The owner is so cute and there's great entertainment. The apps were delicious, and the cheeseboard was with fig jam was excellent. The bread also comes out warm. The pastas are great and focused on high quality ingredients. The truffle special was so delicious and well balanced. Highly recommend coming here for great Italian food if you're comfortable with family style! ”
“ Had the most amazing dinner and night here. Feels like you walked off the streets in New Haven and stepped into a little part of Italy. The family that owns it is so sweet and really want you to enjoy your meal. The food was authentic Italian with Italian sized portions and totally worth your money. Highly recommend. ”
“ This family owned corner of New Haven is such a gem. Anna- the owner- is so full of life & so kind. This isn’t just a restaurant- it’s an experience. From the wines, to the atmosphere, to each handmade dish, you could tell this is a labor of love. The antipasti board was delicious. We got two special pastas- one with black truffle cream sauce and sausage, the other with herbs and olive oil- the carbonara, and the bolognese. The porchetta with potatoes was perfectly crisp. The quality of ingredients is there, and it makes a difference! A really unique and wonderful place for dinner but be aware that it’s not the way to go for a quiet dinner- this one is lively and loud and colorful! (For pricing, that included appetizers and two bottles of wine for four people) ”
“ I go out of my way to dine here. I love that is a family enterprise. I love that it reminds me of the little true italians restaurants I see in Rome. I love the dishes. I love that is authentic Italian dishes. I was schoked that someone gave them a 1 star review. I’ve been there more than 10 times, and anytime I can squeezy a trip to New Heaven, I make it a point to stop by. As I am writing this, I am getting the urge to just pick up and go. Buyer beware this is not your run of the mill chicken parm place, but if you want true Italian food cook the nonna way, you are in for a treat. Salute! ”
